This past spring, Adobe Summit, which was scheduled to take place from March 29- April 2nd at the Venetian in Las Vegas, promised a week of industry insights, product sneak peeks, as well as networking and socializing events. But, like many events, it was cancelled due to COVID-19. We had the opportunity at the time to speak with Adobe’s Tom Swanson, head of Healthcare Strategy and Marketing, and Geeta Wilson, founder and CEO, Consumer Society.
Tom shared that Adobe made the difficult but important decision to make Summit/Imagine 2020 an online event. He was scheduled to speak at the Health & Life Science Super Session with guest speakers. When the company decided to pivot to a virtual event, Tom realized he couldn’t just plug and play the presentation and speaking approach he had originally prepared and that his entire presentation and delivery had to change.
He realized he would no longer be able to speak to a live audience with an interactive Q&A, but instead would be speaking to a screen, that provided little feedback and no interaction. The original live keynote planned to include a power point presentation, a video and a live software demo. And, he still needed to determine how to keep a range of C-level executives engaged – virtually – and this included executives from health insurance, healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, and medical device manufacturers.
As we have been living in this pandemic and the age of “cancelled” live events, we know that stories like Tom’s are not unique. There are many of them. People have experienced Zoom fatigue, online fatigue and in general are hungry for connection and for entertainment.
As an events company, it is our duty to help our clients’ figure this out, to make events interesting and exciting again, to help them become once again shareable moments. We have created a virtual program to do just that!
Our Virtual Booth offer clients an in-house studio perfect for more inclusive, active and immersive experiences in the presentation space. We offer multi-camera, 4K-video-capture capabilities, a full green screen broadcast and transmission studio with secure encoding and a master control room—creating an entire production that attendees will not want to miss out on.
Some of the offerings are for pre-recorded demo style videos with full-suite broadcast studio captures. This is a combination of presenter, graphics, picture-in-picture, and overhead camera capabilities. It includes creative strategies, storyboarding, speaker preparation, production and editing of videos that can be included. We will also offer speaker kits with equipment to ensure high quality remote presentations. And, tools for virtual panels and keynotes too.
Just think, customization is possible with a full in-house creative and production team, and there are no cookie cutter events or boring Zoom conferences.
We started our company on the idea to do things differently and to shake up the events industry. We continue to stay true to that mission and vision—even in the middle of a pandemic. Because it is critical for events to still be open for business – whether it is live or virtually.
