For many parents, kids and shoppers, this year’s holiday season kicked off early - - in November as Play Fair came to New York City at the Jacob Javits Center. The public event was a celebration of play and entertainment for all ages and doubled its attendance this year from its inaugural kickoff in 2016.
T3 Expo is excited to see this new trend taking place where shows are open to the public and people are enjoying experiences and shareable moments™.
The show provided an immersive, experience-rich event for children, parents, families, and teenage and adult fans as well with its hands-on exhibits, awe-inspiring displays, dozens of toy and entertainment brands, and exhibits that attendees could feel and touch. And, attendees were the first to get a glimpse of the “must have” toys of the holiday season and take home their favorites.
The event was captured all over social media channels because of the cool factor – like the gigantic tub of slime that broke the Guinness World Book of Records for the largest slime pit, or the bigger than life-sized Lego figures, including one of Batman.
YouTuber Maddie Rae and T3 Expo created so much purple slime in a 25 ft x 16 ft container as 11,024 lbs. of powder, glue and liquid starch where poured into a massive tub to achieve the record; and the Guinness World Records adjudicator were on-site to ensure all guidelines were followed.
Other shareable moments and highlights of the event included support for one of the most popular holiday toys from Wowwee, the Fingerlings; an interactive booth for Genius of Play and; one of the biggest hits, Legos!
Play Fair is a partnership between the Toy Association and LeftField Media. The Toy Association are also the makers of Toy Fair, the largest toy trade show in the Americas. LeftField Media is a boutique event company dedicated to creating unique, unforgettable, meaningful events for diverse audiences around the country. LeftField Media is behind Washington DC’s Comic Con, which T3 Expo also supported this year
The Play Fair event this year had many new activities, bigger features, and many, many more ways to play! And of course, it had many, many shareable moments too!
