Raising Industry Awareness in DC

Last month, T3 Expo was a part of the fourth annual Exhibitions Day held in Washington, DC. Industry members, which included more than 60 countries and more than 100 event professionals, took part in meetings on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., to discuss the value of events and tradeshows.

Members came together this year to foster relationships and build awareness with federal legislators and other policy influencers on “the Hill” to advocate for exhibitions, and events and to increase awareness of the importance of this industry to government officials.

Many U.S. companies, such as T3 Expo, met face to face with political leaders, addressing critical matters that impact the event industry. These issues included physical and cyber security, global trade, new jobs and how the events industry can continue to do its part to grow and support the national economy.

“T3 represented the 130 employees of Massachusetts and helped give a voice to the industry, which is seeing exponential grow around the world,” said Tom Malek, vice president of sales, Northeast, T3 Expo. “Being a part of the political process means that T3 Expo plays a role in the direction of the industry and helping shape the future.”

The event garnered a great deal of social media buzz. This included sharing some facts such as “Did you know that the events industry contributed over $80 billion to the national GDP in 2016!”

In addition, an infograph was created specifically to take a look at the impact in the Massachusetts (as well as other states too!). Take a look below!
